To Kill a Night Gown

After nine months of gaining weight, mood swings, ugly shoes and sharing my body with a beautiful growing baby girl; I decided that it was time to get reacquainted with my wardrobe. Shedding a few pounds of pregnancy weight was enough motivation for me to slip into one of my favorite night gowns for the night.

Before heading to the bedroom I caught one last glimpse of the news. I was horrified as I sat and watched the heartbreaking stories of robberies, murders and yet another life threatening bacteria that will now cause me to flush public toilets with my foot and turn knobs with my shirt. My hopes of gaining knowledge of what was happening in the world around me soon came to an end. I almost forgot that there was a toddler hugging me as he stood quietly on the couch behind me. After taking in more than enough negative information for one night, I shut off the TV and began walking towards the kitchen. What the news didn't tell me was that I would soon become a victim myself. With every footstep I heard what sounded like a buzzing sound and that oh so familiar maniacal laughter. Slowly turning, I was surprised to find a never ending trail of wine colored fabric stemming from the back of my gown leading to Jr's curious hands.

What I thought was a hug was actually a cover up. Silence in my home usually means that there is something going on, I should have known better. I gathered the fabric which soon took on the form of a miniature snowball, laid the gown to rest and sent it off to night gown heaven. I changed into one of Dad's t-shirts and put off my dreams of wearing something that was not purchased from the maternity clothing section for another night. Jr was pleased with my choice of pj's and went off to bed seemingly satisfied. Until next time...Jr wins again!

Operation: BEDTIME!

My children have officially declared war on bedtime! After they've been fed, bathed and tucked into bed, they begin their secret mission of driving mommie crazy. I can admit, I'm a softy. I often fall for "I'm hungry", "I'm scared", "I'm thirsty" or my favorite "I have to use the bathroom!" My secret weapon, Dad, has began to let me down. Now, he pretends as if he doesn't hear me when I sound the alarm. Usually with one call of "Daad!" lights are out and they're sound asleep. I guess he thinks that he's teaching me a so called lesson? It's all apart of his evil plan to make me tougher. Traitor! Tonight, they're all in for a big surprise!

~ When you walk, their counsel will lead you. When you sleep, they will protect you. When you wake up, they will advise you. PROVERBS 6:22 NLT

The Adventures of Potty Training I

"Did I just see a naked toddler run past me? Nah, I couldn't have..."
Since having a newborn I haven't been getting much rest lately. Just as I thought that it was a mirage and continued to wash dishes; I was interrupted when I heard the voice of my daughter saying "Mom! He took off his diaper again!" BUSTED! I now found myself in hot pursuit of the suspect that was caught streaking through my home. Jr!!! He laughs as he sprints, effortlessly out running me. I cant keep up, the boy is a little track star! Finally, I have him cornered! "Mommie wins today Jr! HA HA!" Just as I began to raise my victory flag, he does the unthinkable...Let's just say that he must have mistaken the living room floor for the potty.

Jr wins...again :(

That was a great post! The life a mom I cnt wait to see wht my little one will look like. Do you have any advice, things to look out for or how to deal with over bearing friends??? I will be a new mommy soon this year and these hormonal changes along with the added pressure of crazy intense friends, grad school, and buying a house are really weighing on me!

Proud Mommie : )

I want to take the time out to commend my oldest daughter for bringing home an awesome report card! She has had some challenges but has proven that a little discipline and hard work pays off!

Please take a moment to show recognition for your children who brought home good grades this quarter <3

Monday Madness Confessions

A weekend filled with fun and relaxation always seems to end too soon. I thought I would have enjoyed my Monday with a little me time, day time tv and  fun and games with my two youngest children, while my oldest spent most of her day at school.

WRONG. Instead, my oldest stayed home today due to no fault of her own. In fact, everyone stayed home today.
